Just thinking out loud a minute here. Why could some of the lesser grade trees that are underwater, not the mahogany or redwood or birch, etc, be used by utility companies as power poles. Do you realize how many of these are used across the US every year. They put creosole on them for preservation so they could be a lower quality wood. If they are down there, no sense in wasting them. I worked 2 summers in high school for our little power company and about all I did was help replace older power poles. Not even considering the ones tornadoes and ice storms knock down. They won't bring the money the expensive ones will, but while we're down there.
