The other thing that statins bring to the table is horrible side effects for some people. I have known several people who have had the horrible-muscle-ache and brain fog side effects, which used to be scoffed at but are now known to be true. Imagine that, a sick person is actually sick, not having a psychiatric episode.

I would not take a statin under any circumstances, even low dose.
