Twilio hired Qatalyst to advise on defense against activist investor group

Twilio is working with bankers at Qatalyst Partners to advise the company on shareholder defense against activist investors, according to people with knowledge of the matter.
Legion Partners and Anson Funds have been pushing Twilio’s board to sell the company or one of its two business units.
In 2020, Qatalyst helped advise on Twilio’s $3.2 billion purchase of Segment, which is part of the division that that activists now want Twilio to divest.
