agree 100%. i've moved on from my anger at NP - i think he was just in way over his head. I also had heard the rumor about a meeting with Gilead, where NP had acted super arrogant and basically blew the meeting up. Who knows if that is true or not. But even if he balked at a low ball offer (which was the right decision), acting like an idiot filters out to everyone that the company's leader is a clown. the deal with that guy Martin Shreikl, the notorious "pharma bro" was another move that certainly cast a lot of taint over the company also. water over the bridge though i guess.
but to be sure, the mismanagement of this molecule during NP's tenure (obviously including Amarex) was staggering. the fact that we're still alive and kicking says a lot about the drug.
if we can simply get a competent CEO, with some knowledge of the science who can garner some respect with the regulators and the broader business community (BP, biotech, etc.) - we would be in such a better spot. The letter mentioned "year end" as the deadline for naming a new CEO - i'm really hoping they're just hedging and we're much closer.
