7) MONTHS AGO: One of the most memorable moments I have is meeting President Lyndon B. Johnson and Senator John Heinz. I was surprised to learn that they both knew of me when we met. Knowing that you’re a frog in a big pond at times, you have the choice to stand out for many reasons, and the President and Senator opened my eyes to what pond I was really in.
Another thing that surprised me was that they were both familiar with the work of the National Minority Health Association, an organization I founded in 1988.
