The vast amount of trading on the market does not come from individual traders and "professionals" will often not assess properly and do spectacularly bad. Even with a proper assessment unknown variables can cofound you. So volatility will always exist.

Individual traders who take the time to do a best assessment can do very well. If not they might as well jump on the WallStreetBets bandwagon. The advice to not gamble your money away has rarely stopped anyone from doing it.
