Yes Dennis, I think they realize it.  I think it's their goal --- lower the price and then either 1) cover their shorts at the lower price and/or 2)load up shares for a future run.

Askwhacking with these relatively few shares means some low-level manipulator (say a Vince, Rich or Pluto type) wants to play.  And without decent volume (the whole market is low volume today!), they can do it.  If we are to be red on any given day, a low volume day is the way to go.
