From your pen to God's reading room. I hope nothing was lost in the translation and that it was IN FACT the FDA which initiated the request to CYDY to seek interested public feedback re: favorable HIV indications/safety/sub-populations/protocol, etc.
To me however such a forward gesture would be entirely out of character for the FDA. I don't believe they have any kind of record as any kind of advocate for any drug. Ever. Hopefully I am wrong.
I can certainly see the FDA generally responding to a query by CYDY or HIV patient advocates but for what it's worth I cannot under any circumstance imagine the FDA initiating/advocating any such effort. The FDA to my knowledge and experience is a bureaucracy of rules and regulations - defensive by design and instinct - not advocacy. Fingers crossed.
