NP was an absolute disaster - i kick myself for not putting more weight on the gut reaction i always had after hearing him speak - which is to say i would cringe. it pisses me off that we had a previous hold that i didn't know about - as i paid close attention to everything over the years here. Of course Lalezari summed it up perfectly - saying he was "the worst CEO i have seen, after working with over 50 companies".
it's no mystery why the FDA is riding us hard - under NP's tenure, we were a problem child in the worst way. multiple flawed submissions via Amarex (even after the agency gave us more specific guidance), a partnership with Martin Shkreli (the infamous "pharma bro), NP's blurting out claims of 3-digit share price, etc.
i don't think Cyrus fully understood what he was stepping into - how toxic and deep the rift with the FDA was - and he's paying for it with his health. to me, our new leader has to have some ability to repair this - to get this #$&* hold lifted, and get us moving forward. i had mentioned that maybe we can find someone with relationships with the FDA / BP, etc. Maybe an older person who is more of a politician than a young hard-charger. because honestly, let's get this hold lifted, and look for ways to partner with someone who can carry the baton from here.
