Those types of trades are usually most often done in retrospect, there are probably a tiny number of traders who actually did that.
Not only was there no reason to expect any deal news from Kay there's now no reason, historically, to believe him about it. Announcements like this from him are used to pump the stock for the investors who got in on the most recent dilution.
Look at the way the investment community reacted to this news. The stock busted through the 1/3 penny mark and we'll see if the rally holds, I bet that it won't.
There are too many negatives here to attract any serious money, deal or no deal.
