Our new community Cheetah likes hard surfaces too. I have tried all kinds of soft things for her to lay on but no way. I appears she like my large open back porch and laying on the hood of my truck as I see her at night from one of my cameras facing the front portion of of vehicles. I have a small area of 4 ft galvanized fence about 26ft by 40ft. This cat will actually walk the top railing. I have never seen a cat do that however about 2 months ago I spotted a possum up on our back porch and since we have this new community cat I wanted to make sure they don't mess with one another so I went outside (9:30 pm) and spotted the possum in a bushes. I sprayed it with a water hose, it climbed up the bush jumped on to the top rail of that galvanized fence and ran about 40ft on top and then jumped down. I though OK that was cool and surprising but to see our community cat walk the rail was totally different however I believe the cat and possum are distant related if memory serves
