The name NAFLD for "non-alcoholic fatty liver disease" is being changed to "metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease" (MASLD)" because the implicit association of liver disease with alcohol abuse was thought to be stigmatizing. (I agree, I always thought that defining the disease by what it is NOT was weird.)
