The first time I heard "pennies from Heaven"...I was in Dublin...literally a stones throw from the river Liffey...my mother, Carmel was singing it...and she knew All the lyrics...she always sang in the kitchen...and used some of those pennies to pay for the gas...running into the house.

She would have been in her late twenties...pictures from that time... showed she was a beauty...my old man was lucky...although it didn't stop him from being a complete bastard.
