Around Thanksgiving, Bill Keating, MA congressman who is introducing legislation came to tour our facility and I gave him a tour of the ER. I had the opportunity to talk to him about the recidivism in our ER with opiate seekers, oxy/heroin overdoses etc., which he is well aware of and essentially why he is involved. MA for the first time ever is seeing the poisoning as the #1 cause of death (which is primarily overdoses). It used to be motor vehicle accidents. I also was able to tell him about Elite. He had never heard of them, but understood about Naloxone and Naltrexone as approaches chemical approaches but actually took the time to get a paper/pen and right down Elite and was going to pass the info to his aides who were involved with drafting etc. I might be able to to see him this saturday. He is holding a meet and greet with local constituents in my town.
