If my memory's correct, this seems to happen everytime leading up to a call. Given the large volume this morning, I suspect it's either the mms walking it down so the shorts can cover before Tues (I know, sounds like a conspiracy), or it's nervious nellies who are concerned there won't be a significant update and the price will drop after the call, or a combination of the two. Nothing but speculation on eiher side. (had to add that discalimer for Craig)
