GSK, Greed and FOMO
A quick thought on the hold release and re-branding…I have been in the camp they may be helpful but not expecting mountains to be moved…I have been counting more on partnerships and the like for a make-no-mistake change in value reflected in stock price. Maybe they are more important than I give them credit. I’m not talking about Glaxo Smith Kline in the tag line but Greasing the Skids for Kinetic energy release. The kind that releases the large amounts of energy in a fault line, the kind when tectonic plates are involved reduce parts of Turkey to rubble but also build mountains like Everest; the Pacific Ocean was once in Spokane…the Juan De Fuca plate has created much of Washington State including the most recent addition, the Olympics so we can enjoy free-range Elk and Mountain Goats at the feet of Mount Olympus.
The hold release together with rebranding may have the effect of positive whisperings in the FDA back-channels as well as a wake up call in the board rooms of companies like Glaxo Smith Kline that realize our corporate past has been expunged, our FDA prison record has been erased and the “coast is clear” to move in. These can lead to other inexorable forces of change: greed and fear of missing out. Cytodyn is not peddling arab oil as useful as that is; more akin to di-lithium crystals, our molecule will take medicine to where no other pharmaceutical has gone before. Like Cyrus said, the hold release is a gating step, a fault line slip that will open the door to other possibilities. With a new polished store front I think we can safely count on the kinetic energy behind greed and fear of missing out to take us to the next level. Till then I patiently await the next tremor and avoid tall buildings.
