I believe your broker cannot lend out your shares unless you have them in a margin account, but I could be wrong. With the naked shorts, it doesn’t matter because they will borrow shares that are in the dark pool and never have to repay them.

How our government allows this to happen is beyond me. Why do we as individual investors continue to invest in this corrupt stock market? The odds are stacked against the individual investors.
