Interesting speculation, mightycydy, but re: what the Regeneron CEO said about patents -
"... so we're gonna move very quickly, get it into patients as fast as we can later this year, and hopefully make it available..."
The CEO was talking about patients....not patents.
Typically a company may license the use of something it has patented to another company after negotiating the terms but the patent usually stays put. The patients may benefit.
Amazing how one little letter can change the meaning of a perceived word.
