Despite an overall cull on the stock market during the last week two relatively small players in the pharmaceutical sector showed strong prospects of growth. Among the companies that traded in high volumes and saw an acute upsurge in price are weight loss drug maker Orexigen Therapeutics (NASDAQ: OREX), and an inventor of oncology and diabetes treatments, MannKind CorporationĀ (NASDAQ: MNKD).
