Well, good bad or ugly.
The House of Plantagenet crosses both sides of my family lines...

The descendants came to America via Plymouth or Virgina, Traveling in family pioneer groups of 200 making their way through the Cumberland gap. Finally, settling in what is known as Little Egypt (Southern 1/3 of Illinois). From there parts went west.
The DNA pool did not divest itself much over 400 years in the US because of the groups they traveled in.
Financially, The Act of 1871 took most of them out of prominence.
