That is all the true facts that you posted. It’s what the USA need to do in a comparable way. As for our border and needed immigrants. We have the same issues only more leaving the work force because of the baby boomers retiring at 10,000+ a month until 2030. Who will replace those workers? That is why unemployment is so low and jobs are going unfilled at minimum wage positions. It’s not that someone isn’t wanting to work. It’s that the job market is allowing people to move up beyond those minimum wage jobs and the bottom jobs go unfilled.
But don’t worry… I asked dbergh if he would work two minimum wage jobs to help out so I can still frequent McDonald’s for breakfast on occasion. The fast food restaurants in my area are paying over minimum wage to attract people to work for them and still can’t keep a staff as people are looking to upgrade always and are moving into better paying jobs. Therefore leaving those minimum wage jobs unfilled at an alarming rate.
Canada doesn’t have as many retiring baby boomers because they have less than 10% of our countries population. There immigration policy will grow their economy and Tim Hortons and all the other fast food and coffee shops will have plenty to choose from. Here in America we have to be hit over the head to see what is happening right before our eyes and still can’t fathom what is happening until it’s to late. Then we will figure it out. But inflation will continue to grow and unemployment will set records and lots of small businesses will fall. All results of a bad immigration policy that needs to be addressed.
We have never needed immigration before like we do now. But the size of families is much smaller now and no population replacement is coming from within our country. My neighbor had 11 siblings and I had 4 siblings. The average family is 2 kids now. We are most definitely not replacing the working class people that we have always had. We need the immigration. Not just from the southern border but from all over the world. At a rate of 5 million legal immigrants a year to catch up and maintain our work force. They don’t need to come from just the South border but Europe and all parts of the world. India or China… are over populated and can spare people to immigration too.
