Amazon CEO announces plan to layoff over 18,000 employees

SEATTLE — The CEO of Amazon, Andy Jassy, shared in a memo on Tuesday that the tech giant will be laying off a little over 18,000 jobs. Most of which will be within their Amazon stores and the People Experience and Technology Solutions team (PXT).

Jassy said the company plans to communicate with impacted employees starting Jan. 18.
