I have long thought that are basically three entities at work here.
One is the academic and research, that which we saw yesterday; the second is the regulatory or federal bureaucracy FDA; the third is the pharma industry. In each people can become insular and complacent to be just crossing the t's and dotting the i's and feel they have done a good job with their life.
The problem of getting Leronlimab to doctors is that it requires all three entities to work together which means that people in each may have to go out of their comfort zone. Personal connections is the easiest way to do that. We can't just cross the t's and dot the i's in academic research and expect anything to happen with the FDA and Pharma.
