In your career, did you/other collections of scientists get invites to listen to and view a start-up's dog and pony show?
I would think that's what medical conferences are for: to learn about state-of-the-art and new peer-reviewed research. I would think researchers are already aware of what's going on in their work areas, like CCR5, for example, through peer-reviewed publications, etc.
