Eisai’s anti-amyloid drug — DEATH because of stroke. They gave the patient blood thinners which caused massive bleeding. If you do not want to read a horror story of exactly how she died, stop reading after a few paragraphs. It’s truly horrendous.

This is MORE evidence backing the idea that amyloid is NOT THE CAUSE OF ALZHEIMER’S but instead is the body’s attempt to protect the brain, just like a scab stops the bleeding from a cut.
It looks like removing the amyloid deposits around blood vessels caused the stroke, and then the ER made it worse by giving her the “clot-buster” drug.
Horrifying.
Anti-amyloid drug research has indirectly caused so much suffering because research money was diverted to it rather than trying to find the CAUSE of dementia.
I hope that one of the NON-amyloid drugs is approved soon — whether it’s AVXL’s stuff or some other company. We need to stop the anti-amyloid nonsense and find real treatments.
