Interesting new development (Recknor & Ray) if true.
By the way, what's the proof this has occurred? Is it just that the website no longer has them listed on the team page? Because taking them off could be nothing more than a decision about how the website looks and/or how many people to feature. If someone isn't going to be public-facing or they're not management, maybe Cytodyn no longer wishes to "promote" them on their site. They have been making other adjustments to the site, so it's not out of the blue in that regard.
Should the chief tech officer and the director of R&D be listed on that page? I don't know. Maybe? Maybe not?
I was thinking about reasons Recknor and Ray would have left, if not a general attack on anyone whose last name starts with an R, and I can't really think of anything "obvious" that would be negative. From what little information we've received from the company, things seem to finally be trending in the right direction. Partnerships should be on the immediate horizon, which solves money concerns and gets LL closer to approval. The Amarex thing is well on its way to being behind us, and ultimately will mean tens or hundreds of millions of dollars back in our pockets. And the hold should be lifted in the very near term.
So maybe these two just felt like they had better opportunities elsewhere. Or their tolerance for risk is so low that they need to find something with a company that's more established to feel secure. Maybe they have nagging wives who desperately want to live in different parts of the country.
People chase titles and money and locations all the time. People become redundant, even in successful organizations. People can be far more mediocre in their roles than people realize. People can want to, or be forced to, move on for a zillion reasons that have nothing to do with doom and gloom for the future of the company they leave.
I feel like we'll hear that they're still there, or that they left for reasons associated with the next steps in getting LL to market. Redundancy with major partners, for instance. Joining the team of the incoming partner, perhaps. I will be surprised if it's some sort of Nader-esque issue, assuming they really are gone.
Regardless, if true it sure is interesting timing with this December 7th call, the 9th, and the very obvious state of affairs where a partner is long overdue.
