No "Red Wave" b/c Republicans shot their wad too soon.
1. The Dobbs decision. Eventuality of a federal statute banning abortion and subsequent SCOTUS decision that would legitimize that legislation.
2. McCarthy and friends shooting off their mouths about how they were going to sunset Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.
3. Permanent tax cuts for the rich.
4. An era of one-party rule. Not Democrats. Not Republicans. Donald Trumpers.
If the leaders had restrained their hubris and said nothing, they could have had their majorities via deception and then gone ahead with their wishlist. They don't care if they're called hypocrites. They'd be in charge -- indefinitely.
We dodged a big one.
