4. Super G Constellation airplane from the 1950's says something, What?

The Super G Constellation airplane in the next to last panel speaks volumes (picture/1000 words).

However, I am not able to explain the presence now of a plane whose first flight was in 1951.

13. I flew in one many years ago

In April of 1967 I flew from Fort Campbell, Kentucky to Fort Sill, Oklahoma in a military chartered Super G Constellation. I knew at the time they were being replaced by the airlines with the newer jet aircraft. It was a classic even in 1967.

16. I just assumed it was meant to imply a long, awkward pause in the conversation.

Being it's not a jet and doesn't appear in either the previous or following panels, I'd assume it took awhile to pass overhead.

19. Symbolic to me of the GOP's insatiable desire to return to the 50's.

You know; white men running everything, mom at home vacuuming in high heels and pearls, ad nauseam.

20. Read that only one left flying.
