Re: Steel Reserve #4711
In 1969 when I got into retail, a magazine we got,"'Chain Store Age" had a monthly list of the biggest retailers.
1. Sears
2. Montgomery Ward
3..JV Penny
4, SS Kreske "Kmart"
5. FW Woolworth.
The only ones left are the dying JC Penny and Woolowrth chaptered 11 the Woolworth division and put all the procedes into Footlockers and Champs Sporting Goods. I quit my Woolworth management job in 1978, they BK'd in 1994. The only one I knew who stayed in til they closed had to get in a class action lawsuit to get any retirement he had coming and the lawyers got a big chunk of it.
