It strikes me as lunacy to pit Remdesivir against long covid…there is no logic to it based on mechanism of action and all the considerable research which has left strong hints and breadcrumbs as to what is causing it. Moreover, why would someone sign up for acute renal failure and the other “safety signals” that have bubbled up with that drug. Not safe, not likely effective. Leronlimab on the other hand: safe, very likely effective based on indication trial results which are now done, dusted, and published. If the NIH is really serious about this and they certainly should be, they should show up in Vancouver with a battering ram at corporate headquarters and beg to get a phase 3 started, like yesterday. Or if the FDA cared they should have provided an EUA based on the results.
Ok, I’m ordering myself back to simmer from boiling over at the inanity, incompetence, corruption and greed which suffuses our regulatory and politically influenced decision making environment.
