Electric rates in my area are expected to spike big this winter. It was front page news. They shut down the coal fired power plant, which was supposed to be converted to natural gas. Instead they cut the plant out from the grid and removed the smoke stacks. It will not cost 30 million to decommission the plant and clean the site, or millions to re-power it and connect it to the grid again. Fuck you, you green bastards. Natural gas is already up and by winter it is going to really hurt those on SS and disability, but hey, the climate is more important right?
