Are shorts professionals? Are you giving them undeserved credit?

Are longs professionals? I know I'm long but am certainly no pro; not to mention my day job and ball-and-chain/better half's spending patterns. So, that's my Fear: I'm a schmoe who can't possibly win, 'cause I'm up against professional shorters. Maybe I better sell.
