In this particular case I can understand the FDAs concerns with safety. Their product uses live bacteria from a wide variety of donors. If careful screening isn't being done harmful bacteria may get through the process. That the drug is being trialed in a type of GVHD then bacteria inducing a high immune response could kill the patients very quickly.
