It is very common for companies to put news out after hours, especially when it’s bad.
Does anyone think they should have put it out during the trading day, resulting in a halt in trading and knee-jerk panic selling?
Companies DO re-state earnings.I don’t remember what large-cap stock did it recently, but it was a household name.
Legal jeopardy would ensue if they did NOT re-state earnings when they became aware of a problem. The timing is a non-issue.
