Obviously it didn't go from $12 to $2555 in two weeks organically. That would take one heck of a PR, lol.
Yes, it was a short squeeze. The MOASS (Mother Of All Short Squeezes) - at least in the 25 years I've been following the markets. I've seen some big ones. DRYS GME AMC TLRY BPTH etc, but I've never seen one like this one that just happened with HDK.
HKD has around 185 millions shares outstanding. The price went from $12 to $2555, a $2543 increase per share. Meaning their market cap temporarily increased a whopping $470 billion dollars!
I'm sure people got wiped out - all the way from day traders to whales, and I'm sure there were people in those same groups who became multi-multi-millionaires in less than two weeks, some overnight.
