Paulson sliding in the new COB last year , IMO, was a good move. She ended up taking out NP and SK’s role on the board became a director instead of the COB. I believe Paulson believed things needed to be cleaned up and it wasn’t going to happen with the COB at the time being a subservient to the CEO. I think those ties were probably more problematic than we realized at the time but as you know , I was very vocal about the governance structure back then . A direct report to the CEO in any company should NEVER be a COB. You basically neutralize the COB. . I’m glad Dr K is in the role in the company and I respect his knowledge but glad he is a director now instead of COB
