Yes i do think a high majority of the shorted shares just sit whether price is going up or down. Many of the times SP up a could chunk they don’t cover instead they double and triple down on shorting more. Just as many of the longs just sit on their shares regardless of prices under $20 $50 You can claim there is no way but many posters show at min 52 million shares FINRA shorted with less than 100,000 available to short and with a super high interest rate. They can cover and reshort the same shares all day but when buyers come in and there is no shares to short combined with no one selling at these low prices price goes up!
