Too late to buy for voting rights. Voting is for shareholders of record as of JULY 12. That's before all of this volume.
Kudos to management for setting the record date a week BEFORE the announcement. That way they avoided exactly the scenario of daytraders buying before the record date, and then selling immediately after but still having the right to vote on shares they don't own.
