"After joining the faculty of the University of Florida, Dr. Ilfeld completed the Advanced Postgraduate Program for Clinical Investigation and earned his Masters Degree of Medical Sciences in Clinical Investigation (program supported by a K30 award from the NIH).
His grant support exceeds $4.3-million, including a Mentored Research Training Grant from the Foundation of Anesthesia Education and Research; a Mentored Career Development Award from the National Institutes of Health (GM077026); and a Department of Defense grant investigating the treatment of phantom limb pain in war veterans.
Dr. Ilfeld is the primary investigator on 57 peer-reviewed publications, 35 of which were randomized clinical trials. Dr. Ilfeld conceived of the PAINfRE research group, assembled the investigators and support staff, and initiated the first multicenter study in 2005."
