07:14 AM EDT, 07/21/2022 (MT Newswires) -- Neptune Wellness Solutions Inc.(NEPT) , a health and wellness company focused on plant-based lifestyle brands, overnight Wednesday said its subsidiary Sprout Organics recorded strong growth in the latest four weeks of Nielsen data and is exploring potential expansion into new product categories beyond baby food.
Neptune said that Sprout, an organic plant-based baby food and toddler snack company, is now available in 90% of the organic baby food market, up from 50% a year ago. Sprout now sells 92 products versus 74 a year ago, and the products are now in 27,000 doors versus 18,500 doors a year ago, a 45% increase.
Sprout has also established tie-ups with leading retailers including Target and Walmart in the last year, and it is now available in all 50 states of the U.S. as well as in Canada, Neptune said.
Sprout also recorded sales of 40%, versus 15% for the overall category, in the latest four weeks of Nielsen data for the period ended June 18, Neptune said. It added that Sprout is now exploring category expansion, including cereal, vitamins and beverages.
