I used to be in the top 1000 reviewers for Amazon. They put me in a program called Vine where I could order new products free of charge in exchange for reviewing them. Every month, I was sent a list of new products, and on a first come first serve basis, I could order them for free.
I sent in one bad review for a free product and was promptly removed from that program.
At least they started identifying the Vine reviews. When you see one, just know that the reviewer is not only compensated for those reviews, but only if they are 100% favorable.
