Re: mountaineer #126480
Great article mountaineer. My wife will appreciate this information because she feels ignored by our family doctor.
My wife has felt she has long haulers for over two years now. That we might of had Covid before any testing was done with molecular testing. We feel that we had Covid at least 3-5 months before the first positive test in the United States happened in Washington state in March of 2020 I believe. We feel we had Covid in fall of 2019 before anyone had the first positive Covid test. We live in Washington state and there was this very nasty flu that fall going around here. It went through everyone where I work. Highly transferable. Of the 30 people I work with…This is the common belief.
In order to be in a resent University of Washington study you have to have proof of Covid by a molecular test. Once again she felt ignored by the medical system. Hence no test. Now seeing this blood test finding Covid is a big deal for those who never had a molecular test for whatever reason when they had Covid that absolutely proves you had Covid. This will change the tide for many people that doctors are ignoring that can now prove they have long lasting Covid persisting in their system.
My wife has had maybe two more breakouts of Covid since the original Covid infection not including symptoms that never go away. One breakout symptom appeared like shingles ( we are vaccinated for Shingles) with some rash around her mid section. Having finding months later that someone else we knew had this similar rash as a symptom of their Covid positive testing for Covid and never hearing Nationally of this as a symptom for Covid during anyone else’s bout with Covid. We look back on that as another possible breakout symptom of reoccurring Covid.
It just seems that Covid effects everyone differently we feel the way doctors are looking at this is… show me a test and I will maybe believe your having some long term effects… but it seems without this molecular proving test you are somewhat ignored it seems to us. Having a blood test for Covid long haulers now will help those people to prove they may have issues. This will be huge for many many people. It’s being recognized for your Covid issues and finding treatment that everyone desires. This blood test will ease many peoples situations seeking some help and not having an understanding physician.
