This is why I believe Jemperli and Leronli would make an awesome combination for Long Haulers. The PD1 inhibitor trial referenced here and the LRM trial for Long Haulers showed that T cells were utterly exhausted from fighting Covid. That exhaustion essentially resulted in their symptoms as their immune systems were not functioning and therefore not eradicating their symptoms. Patients remained sick and unable to restore their health.
In the PD 1 trial, they found that there were excessive PD1 receptors on the surfaces of the T cells. In the LRM trial, there were too few CCR5 receptors.
In the PD 1 trial, giving PD1 blockade restored normal t cell function and eradicated exhaustion.
In the LRM trial, giving LRM restored normal t cell function and eradicated exhaustion.
People continue to suffer with LH. Some people still can't smell or taste. Some have fatigue, headaches. The t cells remain exhausted until they get fixed, but with out the appropriate treatment, they don't get better on their own. PD 1 blockade or CCR5 blockade apparently is necessary as per the trials.
NIH was considering grant for LH.
