The 10% for Northern European descent is the CCR5 delta 32 single allele variation. Which means you carry one copy of the CCR5 gene. 1% of the population of Northern European descent have a CCR5 delta 32 double allele variation. Which means you carry no copies of the CCR5 gene.

In HIV the double allele variation is almost 100% protection. The single allele variation offers a higher level of protection than no variation.

For Covid neither will stop you from getting it. You'll have a better chance of not advancing to severe/critical. With the double allele offering the most protection.
