My speculation:
It's about power. They literally want to kill the life engendered. Therefore they have to get knocked up.
They have one point: certain types of birth control are hazardous to your health...specifically, sex hormones in the pill. An IUD can cause issues, but rubbers rarely. I am convinced that the blue haired army just wants to kill for the thrill. Sad really. They are of course encouraged monetarily by organ harvesters and experimentalists and their politician and oligarchy clients who are now addicted to a constantly growing supply of fresh dead baby products to perpetuate their crime syndicates. Of course these people started the ritual killing and made is part of pop culture just to get their bling.
We are nearing the "Days of Noah" level of evil and corruption. Expect a major die off...but not the one they are trying to cause. That is a copy cat...they are trying to forstall the life force's immune reaction to their evil actions by doing a pre-emptive culling themselves....hoping to avoid direct blowback from their actions. It will not work. And while there is Free Will, the real control system is way smarter than the elite...and way smarter that their AI....IMO.
