Years ago I worked for a non-profit group raising money in the Palm Springs area of California...we published a newspaper with pictures of lost /missing children and I was responsible for raising $Dough...creating events to raise awareness...political stirs etc...I approached the Red Cross in that effort and they said they would give the organization six figures with a caveat...WE couldn't have events that might affect how they raised $Dough in the fundraising season...which was practically all year...a spurious attempt by another big organization trying to drown out the noise from a smaller organization...I respectfully declined. There is always a cloud in the silver lining.
