I like the article quotes you brought foreword Enjay and liken it to the whole lack of seeing a glimpse of the future. The FDA is running rogue when you can see that they don’t show the urgency needed to make sound decisions. Cutting corners and not looking foreword at the harm they personally can cause. This is running with blinders on and not seeing the future harm.
How is it that they the FDA don’t have the foresight to see a lack of baby formula being produced by a company that has 40% of the complete market and let the damn store shelves run empty? Now our government has to import formula from around the world because the FDA can’t get heir shit together to approve what is needed to restart the production of the largest producer of formula in our nation. What should of been a monetary fine and let’s get all the issues solved in a week or two and get this business back up and producing turned into a 8-9 month ( this started in Oct. 2021) of lack of urgency… this lack of foresight turned this into the travesty that it has become. How somebodies head or multiple heads don’t roll is beyond comprehension.
So when you look at the big picture… the FDA leadership is the problem and newly appointed or not… the new head of the FDA should resign or be fired. There are others that should be gone too and if this isn’t the biggest example of poorly run government… what is? It doesn’t bode well for small companies when a big producer is ham strung for 8-9 months. It shows you that smaller companies even have less of a chance to progress through the process fairly.
Let’s hope there is a FDA shake up and we find someone new with true leadership that can have the foresight to change how the whole FDA is run and how fairness and helpfulness for equal opportunities for all companies no matter the size of that company. Something where the biggest companies don’t run the show. Don’t have the power that they do now. Things need to change and we need that change now not later. We found the wrong FDA leadership and need to start over. It’s better for everyone.
