The upregulation in CCR5 expression may be due to free-floating cytokines that would have otherwise bound to the existing CCR5 . I haven't read the longhaulers paper yet. I'll have to see if I can figure out a thesis for the downregulated immune system. I do wonder if they saw an increase in IFN-a after administration of leronlimab.
