this will be my last post for the evening because i only have 1 left for the day and i will be hitting the sack soon.
i wish they will open my account so i can have unlimited posts so i can communicate here.
i've asked multiple times, but i get no response.
your question on prednisone and dexa and the correlation with long covid almost makes me think that these meds may even potentiate the long covid.
both the med as well as the disease reduce CCR5 expression.
in the same way that CCL5 rantes blocks CCR5 and makes the body think that all is good even though there is a virulent metastatic tumor proliferating through circulating tumor cells while the M-1 macrophage was transformed into an M-2 pro-tumor macrophage and the Treg cells usually commanded the Natural Killer cells to kill the tumor, now tell the NKcells to leave it alone. Yeah, all is good, no need to get upset or inflammed. Don't worry about the tumor, its actually "self" and you need to help it grow with vegf and bring it a blood supply.
So prednisone does the same, it says don't worry about what ever is making me choke, or wheeze or irritate my lungs. This way the airways stay nice and wide so i can get air through them and so i can feel good, even though, there may be phlegm or even spike protein left overs which are distributed all through out the brachii and alveoli which would be best eradicating, but do that would bring in lots of fluids, and immunoglobulins like IGG and IGM or IGA or IGE what ever is in the lungs and lots of those proteins are inflammatory. no can't have that, so better off having anti-inflammatory which only fools your body into thinking that nothing is wrong.
here is a thought, maybe consider benzonatate 200mg three times daily if you are coughing. that may help you avoid the steroid. you may get through it, but, your immune system will keep working and won't be shut off by the steroid. long covid itself is shutting it down all by itself. it doesn't need even more help.
have a good night.
