I had this issue with Schwab over Easter and the added days the holiday added to the clearing process (I wanted .24s dammit).
They said transfers initiated thru Schwab from my bank take 3 days no negotiating that because they "can't guarantee the funds will come in." (Bullshit bc it already left my bank so where's it gonna go?).
However, if I initiate the transfer from my bank TO Schwab then it can clear within one day.
Regardless, Figgs is right. They just want to sit on your $$ for a few days.
